Sažetak
The crisis also led to an increase in family and individual homelessness, due to job losses, foreclosure, and other economic hardships. Social workers experienced an increase in demand for their services as they worked to help people who had lost their homes. Social workers also provided crisis counseling, financial assistance, and other resources to those affected by the crisis. The crisis also had a profound impact on social policies. Governments responded to the crisis by implementing austerity measures that reduced spending on social welfare. This resulted in decreased access to health care, education, and other services for vulnerable populations. This further exacerbated the inequalities already present in society. The global economic crisis has highlighted the need for more robust social policies, particularly in areas of education, health care, and social safety nets. Social workers can play an important role in advocating for stronger social policies that promote economic and social justice. They can also work to develop innovative approaches to social work practice that address the long-term effects of the crisis on individuals, families, and communities.
