Sažetak
Patients with insulin dependent or type I diabetes mellitus are known to be at a high risk of bacterial infections. In this case report, the clinical course in a 40-year-old man with insulin dependent diabetes mellitus, congestive heart failure, and acute kidney failure who developed mycotic sepsis due to Candida albicans, is described. The organism was recovered from blood cultures and urine cultures. The patient's condition worsened rapidly. Serial imaging of the kidneys revealed edematous kidneys with "membranes" within both ureters. On excretory urography, stenosis seg. pyeloureteralis dex. was found, and ureterolysis with "T" prosthesis was performed. The patient's condition improved slowly with antifungal therapy, however, renal failure persisted
