Sažetak
Since reserves management is the most important factor in protection against risks, it is necessary to harmonize it with the EU directives and trends. The paper deals with financial and accounting aspects of reserves policy in Croatian banking sector. The objectives are: to research and to describe banking risks, especially in Croatian circumstances ; to find out basic points of reserves management in Croatian banking sector and its significance in risk protection ; to compare risk and reserves management with the EU directives and to assess the level of reserves management compatibility between the EU requests and Croatian practice and trends.
