Sažetak
Evaluation of the biological potency of an standardized and reproducible "in vitro" method is fundanemntal contribution to clinical allergology. This process gives clinician information about allergen potency and tis posibility to induce immunological activity. At the time of this study only the most developet laboratories could aply RAST inhibition technique. This in vitro method should necessary be accompanied with clinical assesment and the work of experienced allergologist in order to select appropriate patient. In this study those were the patients with Dactylis glomerata pollen allergy.Patients with trees, weeds and mite allergy were excluded.Investigation was done on 23 patients with the allergen extracts of three manufacturers.VArious concentractions and 4 fold repatition was applied. High correlation was achieved between the dose of inhibitor (allergen) and the induced RAST inhibition in all tgree allergen extracts.Inhibition curve was linear in the range between 30% and 70% achieved inhibition and therefore appropriate for linear regression analysis.By means of the arbitrary allergen units were deermined. This results showed that this method is sensitive and reproducibile. Along with "in vivo" methods it is appropriate for the standardization of alleren extract. This study was the only one and the first one in our country.
