Sažetak
In this paper, the author analyzes the writing of the newspaper "Süddeutsche Zeitung" based on the periodicals of the Bavarian State Library in Munich and published scientific literature. The analysis covers the period from January to June 1991 in other words from the January crisis until the declaration of independence and sovereignty of Croatia and Slovenia on June 25, 1991. During this period there was an escalation of conflicts between the republics, republics and federal authorities, and between rebel Serbs in Croatia and state of Croatia, which accelerated the collapse of Yugoslavia. The emphasis of this paper is on the writing of "Süddeutsche Zeitung" about the events in Yugoslavia and Croatia in that period and on the reactions and politics of the West in relation to those events.
