Sažetak
Over the past seven years after the war, many objects and buildings have been reconstructed and constructed in Croatia. In these processes, wood has been one of the most useful materials. The use of wood, however, has at times been ineffective in many aspects, so some of the wooden products have not completely satisfied the end-users. The aim of this article is to acquaint the potential producers and users with procedures for selecting appropriate wood and wood preservatives according to their natural durability, treatability in construction and reconstruction, particularly in the light of the new European norms. Our country has to implement the norms by 2006.
