Sažetak
The oldest technique of graphic duplication of originals is stencil printing. At the very beginning, the printing form was handed, the ink was sprayed, and the printing substrates were stone rocks in caves. Later, it switched from hand-made printing forms to printing on fabrics. Here, screen printing stands out as a branch of art. Of course, over time, technology advances, so with come Europe, stencil printing has largely become a technical discipline. This paper exactly explains the phenomenon from the oldest manual stencil printing to the emergence of mechanized procedure techniques in the 20th and 21st centuries. In the end, we meet for a moment with stencil printing in a time of digital expansion. Prediction of further development of stencil printing techniques is also given. The artistic note that accompanies hand-guided screen printing is not forgotten.
