Sažetak
The 28th International Conference on Software, Telecommunications and Computer Networks (SoftCOM 2020) was held in a form of a virtual conference, September 17 to 19. 2020. The Conference has been organized by the University of Split, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture (FESB) and Croatian Communications and Information Society (CCIS) under the auspices of the Croatian Academy of Engineering. The Conference has been technically co-sponsored by the IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc). Researchers and experts from industry, research institutes and universities from 30 countries all around the world have submitted in total 210 papers for presentation at SoftCOM 2020. Submitted papers have been reviewed by more than 250 scientists from universities, institutes and ICT companies all over the world. 100 accepted papers have been carefully selected based on their contribution, relevance, conceptual clearness and overall quality. Thus 48% of submitted papers have been recommended for presentation within the technical program. The technical conference program featured twenty conference sessions including ten general conference sessions, one symposium, and eight special sessions. The symposium has been dedicated to Robotic and ICT Assisted Wellbeing. The special sessions are dedicated to hot topics including: QoS in Wired and Wireless Networks, Ad Hoc and Sensor Networks, Green Networking and Computing, Service Quality, Reliability and Security, Security and Digital Forensics, Advances in Machine Learning for Business and Finance, Environmental Electromagnetic Compatibility and Advanced Educational Technologies. The keynote talk titled: 5G: New Engine of Digital Economic Growth has been given by Sinisa Krajnovic, PhD, Executive Vice President and Head of Digital Services, Market Area North East Asia at Ericsson. Besides the scientific program, a professional workshop dedicated to a wide spectra of topics in ICT was organized. In addition two half-day tutorials were held by recognized experts. In conjunction with the SoftCOM 2020 conference a Business Forum was organized featuring industrial presentations, and workshops with participation of managers, executives, experts, government and institution representatives who discussed and exchanged opinions and experiences on a number of hot topics in a contemporary and future ICT industry and market including business, technological and social aspects. Industry panel Possibilities of development of NGA networks in Croatia - a technical perspective gathered the representatives of leading operators in Croatia to discuss the technical aspects of the deployment of the broadband Internet access in Croatia.The 9th Workshop on Software Engineering in Practice has been organized in collaboration with experts from the Ericsson Nikola Tesla company. Within the iWORKSHOP: 7 x iSkills fundamental innovation skills have been presented and then applied onto real world use cases in a dynamic discussion with the audience. The program also included the PhD Forum for doctoral students and the presentation of students projects in the frame of the Workshop on Software Development.
