Sažetak
The 25th International Conference on Software, Telecommunications and Computer Networks (SoftCOM 2017) was held in attractive ambience of the Radisson Blu Resort hotel, Split, September 21 to 23. The Conference has been organized by the University of Split, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture (FESB), Croatian Communications and Information Society (CCIS), and the Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) under the auspices of the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports. The Conference has been technically co-sponsored by the IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc). Researchers and experts from industry, research institutes and universities from 47 countries all around the world have submitted in total 211 papers for presentation at SoftCOM 2017. Submitted papers have been reviewed by more than 250 scientists from universities, institutes and ICT companies all over the world. 104 accepted papers have been carefully selected based on their contribution, relevance, conceptual clearness and overall quality. 49% of submitted papers have been recommended for presentation within the technical program. The technical conference program featured twenty conference sessions including eight general conference sessions, six symposia, two special sessions. and one workshop. The symposia have been dedicated to the following topics: Smart Environments and IoT Technologies, Ad Hoc and Sensor Networks, Environmental Electromagnetic Compatibility, Green Networking and Computing, Security and Digital Forensics, and Information Security and Intellectual Property. The special sessions are dedicated to hot topics including: QoS in Wired and Wireless Networks, and Advanced Educational Technologies. The Workshop on IoT and Eldery Friendly Cities and Healthy Ageing Servces has been organized by the research group from the University of Salento, Italy. Besides the scientific program, a professional workshop dedicated to a wide spectra of topics in ICT was organized. In addition seven half-day tutorials were held by worldwide recognized experts. In conjunction with the SoftCOM 2017 conference a Business Forum was organized featuring invited talks and workshops with participation of managers, executives, experts, government and institution representatives who discussed and exchanged opinions and experiences on a number of hot topics in a contemporary and future ICT industry and market including business, technological and social aspects. The 6th Workshop on Software Engineering in Practice which was organized with the Ericsson Nikola Tesla company gathered researchers and professionals from industry who presented new developments in these emerging topics. The Round table on the Information Security and Intellectual Property was organized in collaboration with Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) and the Faculty of Law. The panels titled Telco meets ICT and The Innovation Panel Session have been organized by the Ericsson Nikola Tesla company. The program also included the Workshop on Doctoral Studies in ICT and the presentation of students projects in the frame of the Ericsson Nikola Tesla summer camp 2017. In addition an expo and a series of industrial presentations have been organized. On behalf of the Program committee we would like to thank and credit the authors for their excellent contributions. Particular thanks to the reviewers for their great job as well as to the IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc) and to the Technical Committee of Communication Software for the support. We are also thankful for collaboration to the universities from Salento, Colmar, Beira, Ancona, Graz, Zagreb, Osijek and Rijeka for valuable contributions to the quality of the Program.
