Sažetak
This paper presents practical numerical model used in the large displacement and material nonlinear analysis of the steel space frames. The model is based on the assumption of an incremental application of Total Lagrange small displacement theory. The nonlinear beam-column finite element (FE) adopts a decomposition approach for the cross-section to capture the uniaxial behaviour of steel. The filaments in section are extended over the beam-column FE and they formed a prismatic body, which is discretised by brick FE, to capture the shear and torsional nonlinear behaviour of steel. The model implements flexural, lateral and torsional stability effects. The incremental step procedure of gravitational load level is applied.
