Sažetak
Testing has been performed of diluted water solutions of polyelectrolytes on the basis of poly(acrylic acid) (PAA-1 and PAA-2) and their metal cations (Na+, K+, Li+, Ca2+). There has been determined the influence of ionization poly(acrylic acid) and added electrolyte (NaCl) on the viscosimetric behavior of PAA. Thermal stability of poly(acrylic acid) and its sodium salts has been determined in the temperature range up to 6000C in a nitrogen atmosphere by the thermogravimetric analysis method (TGA). Viscosity of poly(acrylic acid) water solution is considerably increased by neutralization with single-valent cations up to the neutralization degree of = 20%, while the bivalent cation neutralization has no significant influence. Additon of 10-2 ML-1 concentration electrolytes does not head to any change in viscosity values of poly(acrylic acid) water solutions for all degrees of neutralization. Thermal degradation of poly(acrylic acid) is carried out in three stages, while that of its sodium salts is performed in two stages, which is in accordance with the degradation mechanism. Thermal stability of the poly(acrylic acid) sodium salts improved with the increase of neutralization degree.
