Sažetak
Competitive environment has changed the process of strategic management and competitive behavior of companies. Competitive dynamics in the unstable business environment is characterized by fast and unpredictable competitive moves which disrupts possible management responses from other competitors in the market. Competitive dynamics research stream emphasizes characteristics of the competitive moves undertaken by the companies as the main object of the study. Companies act in particular way and rivals respond with their competitive repertoires and these competitive move characteristics determine survival and long-term performance of the companies. Emphasis on company level competitive activity is important, because it describe process where companies create their strategies, test their opponent’s competitive behavior and capabilities, defend their reputation, and signal their toughness-that is, where business rivalry occurs. Since the competitive moves characteristics, like action volume and action complexity are important constructs of competitive dynamics and they impact on the performances of the companies, the goal of the paper is to provide a theoretical perspective on the relationship between competitive dynamics and achieved performance with emphasis on the single competitive moves characteristics. The paper analyzes how different characteristics of moves, influence competitive attitude and company performance.
