Sažetak
This diploma paper sets out to explore the influence of Dante Alighieri and his epic poem 'La Divina Commedia' on T. S. Eliot’s 'The Waste Land' and 'The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock', and how intertextuality functions in these two poems. Focusing mainly on the imagery, poetic structure and vocabulary, the paper draws parallels between Dante’s seminal work and Eliot’s poems, and attempts to demonstrate many ways in which Eliot employs Dante’s text, and refers and alludes to Dante in the selected poems.
