Sažetak
Developments in MR acquisition and improvements in algorithms for brain MR image analysis have enabled evaluation of normal and abnormal brain development from neonatal period to adulthood. Reference or normative models are essential for the assessment of brain development. Early detection of abnormal brain development identifies children that need early intervention therapy thereby improving the overall neurodevelopmental outcome. Similarly, they are useful in adulthood and for early detection of Alzheimer's disease before the onset of clinical symptoms.
