Sažetak
Recognizing the increasing emphasis of sustainable development and environmental challenges, this paper focuses on the energy efficient vehicle market and factors influencing its growth. The objective is to determine how government’s incentives influence the development of the energy efficient vehicle market in Croatia. The regression analysis has been conducted to determine what are the key market drivers. Following variables have been used: the number of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles (EVs), the amount of government incentives for environmental protection, GDP per capita, the oil price, the volume of road traffic, and the Ecological footprint for the period from 2010-2020. The results showed that the GDP per capita and government incentives stimulate energy efficient vehicle market growth. The paper concludes with a set of guidelines that can encourage further market development.
