Sažetak
: In this article an survey of methods used for the detection of forest fires is presented. Although the purpose of this research was to create a comprehensive overview of detection systems, some system might be left out. Several main groups can be distinguished. The ground based aerial and space borne detection platforms, and large variety of detection techniques using different wavelengths for detection. The sources of false alarms and the influencing factors for choosing a fire detection sistem will be discussed. The paper illustrates same of basic ideas for remote sensing of forest fire.
