Sažetak
There are parts of the world, that, although surrounding us, we cannot choose to see directly. We have no direct knowledge of the "dorsal" world, or world behind our backs. This unknown world behind is referred to as the world of death in ancient myths, such as in the story about Orpheus and Eurydice, and as the world of danger in the legend about Perseus. In horror films, the danger usually comes from the back. This world was initially mastered through the use of a dark polished shield, also known as the Claude Glass, and later developed through the use of a rearview mirror and the photo camera. This chapter focuses on selfies in front of cadavers, which are present in the backworld. These selfies will be defined as “control images” that master fearful mental illusions, defined as "psychosomatic images" .
