Sažetak
This lecture focuses on the importance of using newspaper articles in English language teaching. Because of their lexical and grammatical complexity they provide valuable teaching material which can be used for improving different language skills, revising grammatical structures and extending vocabulary, especially with expressions used in spoken language. Furthermore, newspaper articles usually deal with issues which students find interesting and are likely to discuss using English as means of communication. In this way a communicative atmosphere is created in the classroom and it corresponds to a real life situation, so students are becoming competent to talk about different issues.
