Sažetak
Article is based on one of the topics of the study group meeting - Interaction between instrument makers and musicians. Author's intention is to present instrument-makers in a context of nurturing of traditional music in the course of 20th century, specially if we think that some of them are or were directly involved in revival of Croatian traditional music which was rather important musical movement in the 90s when Croatia achieved its independence. Most of informants present special combination of professional instrument-players and instrument-makers in one person. Through their statements, but also in connection with current domestic music scene, the author is trying to answer the following questions – How and where did they attain the knowledge and skills necessery for the instrument-making How do they transmit their skills What stands in the base of their instrument-making – copying of older pieces or making new instruments using their own inventions ; Who are their "customers" – who is buying and playing their instruments ; Do they make more souvenir-instruments or instruments used in public music practice ; To what extent are the instrument-makers directly involved in reconstruction of forgotten musical genres ; How does the specific combination of being both the musician and the instrument-maker work in practice?
