The paper traces the development of folklore festivals in Macedonia after the Second World War, starting with the post worldwar II 11th October's festivals in the cities of Bitola, Shtip and Skopje, up to the large state festivals of the folk dance scene, financed by the Ministry of culture in the Republic of Macedonia.
