Sažetak
With the growth of air traffic, airspace design proves to be difficult with current tools, aircraft models and airspace simulations. An increase in traffic causes proportional growth in general aviation traffic, and from this point onward, general aviation traffic can no longer be overseen. This paper presents a new model for general aviation airplanes, powered by normally aspirated piston engines, enabling simple but accurate simulations. The modelling process is done by utilizing the data available in the pilot's operating handbook. This model, compared to the current traditional aircraft performance models, enables more precise and flexible simulations. Within the results chapter, an example of the modelling process is shown upon an example airplane. Results are precise and validated against the before-mentioned pilot's operating handbook. With the new model, general aviation can be included in simulations for airspace design and other applications. Future research should be focused on modelling the pre-charged piston engines and airplanes in non-clean configuration, allowing widening of the airplane databases and simulations through terminal phases of flight.
