Sažetak
The research has aimed to establish the differences between results in particular time segments of a handball match (15-minute quarters) by comparing the winning and the losing teams at the female WHA Meisterliga Austria 2021/22. The results point to statistically significant differences, considering the partial result increase in the first and fourth periods of the match. Targeted preparation for each match was reflected in the maximum engagement of the players both in the first and last part of the game. The discipline of respecting the tactically designed and agreed way of playing is obviously the characteristic of winning teams. Considering the result differences, all four periods proved to be statistically significant. That can be explained by the stable, mobile, and practiced defensive engagement, which resulted in safe and concrete attacking actions. Successful functioning in all game segments, from defense to transition and attack, will largely determine the engagement of all players as a team.
