Sažetak
Exploitation of mineral raw materials inevitably means degradation of space in relation to the original state, which means that it has the purpose of permanently changing the space. The aim of this paper is to analyze the theoretical and empirical interaction of the completed exploitation of mineral resources and the realization of the final purpose of the space. The paper will provide a thorough overview of abandoned mines / remnants of illegal mining works that are an expression of a negative attitude towards the environment and natural values. The research methodology in this paper is based on theoretical research based on the analysis of data obtained from competent services and state bodies. General scientific methods (methods of analysis, synthesis, comparisons, etc.) and descriptive statistics methods will be used in the research. The paper analyzes the condition of abandoned exploitation fields and remnants of previous mining works in the Varaždin County in the period from 2007 to 2020 and the final purpose: economic, agricultural, tourist, sports and recreational. The analysis and systematization of surface mines was carried out and their relationship between the areas affected by mining works in relation to the purpose of the areas of Varaždin County was correlated. The purpose for which the area will be used after the completion of exploitation and rehabilitation depends on its size, layout, position in space, distance from settlements, agricultural, forest and river areas. The results of this paper are based on the analyzed data and the factual assumption that remediation requires consideration of all bylaws in the field of nature and environmental protection and other areas depending on future use of space and status and adopted acts. in local and regional government
