Sažetak
This article examines the misuse of prayer by the representatives of the Serbian Orthodox Church and the Catholic Church during and after the Homeland War. Prayer is misused in a way that its form is preserved but its addressee is changed. This feigned prayer is focused on the fulfilment of nationalistic goals. It doesn't address Christian God who becomes incarnate and steps into the world in order to save it. God is banished from the world and replaced by the nationalistic concept of the state. Such prayer is nothing short of cursing. People of faith are turned into faithless warriors and God is turned into a disoriented nationalistic exile silent in the face of crime.
