Sažetak
Machine-hand sub-operations included in garment sewing operations ask for a high degree of accuracy in performing, since the quality of the seam depends upon it. Work of this type requires a high level of visual and muscular focus, which results in higher workload and fatigue on the part of the operator involved. Using accessories, operation structure is changed and the necessary degree of movement freedom in handling the workpiece is reduced, which results more rational movements, with lower loading of the operator. The paper presents investigations of the impact of the usage of accessories, border ruler in particular, on processing parameters in performing operations of sewing straight seams of various lengths. Processing parameters have been measured and stored employing the MMPP system for measuring processing parameters. Using the patent-protected measuring equipment, correlations occurring in performing sewing operations with a border ruler and without it are investigated. Using the border ruler, basic time of performing the operation is reduced by as much as 28.9%. When short seams are made (up to 500 mm length), the degree of sewing machine utilisation is reduced by 15.6% maximum, while in case of long seams (700 and 1000 mm) it is increased by up to 30.1%, depending upon the number of seam segments. Specific sewing time for machine and machine-hand sub-operations is reduced up to 65.5%, while the average stitching speed obtained in the course of performing the machine- hand sub-operations is enhanced by as much as 190.1%.
