Sažetak
The global steel production market is in recession in 2022. This decline is due to a number of global factors. These are the consequences of the recent COVID-19 pandemic, which significantly affected both the markets of the leading consumer states and the states producing metallurgical products: China and the United States. Among the twenty-two steel-producing countries, only two, India and Saudi Arabia, are seeing growth in 2022. The largest decline in production of more than 60% in Ukraine due to a full-scale military conflict with Russia. Overcoming the negative trends of the current year in 2023 looks illusory, since it is not clear which components can become a growth driver for this year.
