Sažetak
The research aimed to determine the current situation with the implementation of gender mainstreaming in the social democratic parties of selected countries in the region (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Croatia, North Macedonia and Serbia). Research participants were the representatives of social democratic parties, academia, civil society/NGO sector and the media. The research included a total of 70 participants (37 women and 33 men). Data were collected through specially constructed semi-structured questionnaires and guided interviews. The research shows that all the countries have a legislative framework in place, as well as institutional mechanisms for the implementation of gender equality, but there is a lack of political readiness to implement the adopted legislation and strategic documents in practice.
