Sažetak
As power circulates throughout society, it is perpetually transferred from one individual or group to another. Using Michel Foucault’s ideas as a foundation for the theory, it can be understood that whoever possesses power can influence the thoughts and actions of others. This paper examines how control and social issues impact society and its members while examining some important concepts such as capitalism, hegemony, discipline, sexism, and body image that have an influence on and/or are influenced by control. In particular, due to their significance in understanding docility and how punishment influences people's actions, the concepts of docile bodies and punishment were discussed in depth. As a case study for the analysis, several scenes and examples from Melanie Martinez's film K-12 (2019) were incorporated in the paper. Martinez combines the school setting with real- world events and concerns. The film tackles serious topics, and it illustrates how society influences us throughout our most fundamental years
