Sažetak
Race and its representation in the media have been the center of attention among many scholars and academics. One aspect of race has often been stereotyped in media such as books, movies and TV shows and that is wrongful condemnation of black men and women to prison. Harper Lee’s novel To Kill A Mockingbird is one of many that focuses on such issues, but also conveys a message about empathy and its power to demine stereotypical beliefs. Through the analysis of some of the characters and scenes from the novel, there can be found some attempts of breaking these stereotypes. To Kill A Mockingbird has become a classic and is a foundation for breaking the mold of wrongful representation and stereotyping the Black community
