Sažetak
We can begin our day with a smoothy or a chocolate brownie ; we can participate in a webinar ; home office has become an option for many due to the koronavirus pandemic ; we guglali (googled) on our tableti (tablets) how to join jogalates (yogalates) with its antistres (antistress) effects. All that is left to do is to post to Instragram and write a few words about our day on our blog, and then finally, watch a historical dramedy on our new TV with a full HD slika (full HD image), etc. Neologisms of the 21st century belong to different semantic fields such as business, education, modern technologies, communication, food and drink, fashion, health, lifestyle, politics, science, etc. We collected our corpus of neologisms from various online and printed sources and the examples presented in the paper were chosen on the basis of which semantic field they belong to. We offer an overview of the level of adaptation of the chosen neologisms to Croatian as the recipient language and give examples of their use in context.
