Sažetak
The Impostorism Scale (Leary et al., 2000) is a unidimensional instrument designed to measure the sense of being an impostor or fraud, which is central to the conceptualization of the phenomenon of impostorism. The authors reported satisfactory internal consistency and construct validity of the instrument in three studies with undergraduates and no gender difference. However, measurement invariance across gender groups was not examined. The aim of this study was to assess the measurement invariance of the Impostorism Scale across genders in a sample from student population. Data were collected in an online study with 475 students (63% female). First, we verified that the specified one-factor model fit the data well in the two gender groups. Then we followed the standard steps in measurement invariance testing, including configural invariance, factor loadings invariance, and residual invariance. The results of the multigroup analysis showed that the (pattern of) item loadings on the latent factor and the item residuals were equivalent across the two gender groups in this sample.
