Sažetak
The international institutions IMF, WTO and the World Bank greatly support the process of globalization and market liberalization as dominant trends that strongly influence the macroeconomic environment of the countries of the world. In 2008, the global financial crisis began, which required a response from the umbrella financial institutions. In relation to the activities of the IMF, the main problem of work can be cited as high indebtedness, primarily in developing countries, as well as inadequate structures of their economies and financial sector, as well as insufficient effectiveness of the IMF's measures in implementing reforms, which can lead to a slower development and further lagging behind developing countries, the causes of which need to be investigated and tried to be eliminated. Also, the problem is the inadequacy of the IMF's actions in certain situations and interventions. Nowadays, such efforts are better coordinated through the regimes and membership requirements of certain agreements negotiated in the WTO. Regardless of the fact that the WTO appears to be a democratic organization, some of the authors see it as a closed organization where informal meetings are often held. Such meetings are considered very important before the negotiations gain formal importance and before a certain consensus is reached among the members. Each of these organizations provides financial assistance to countries whenever they need it, but such money comes through strings attached and the motives behind the initiative are often questionable.
