Sažetak
The paper discusses the importance of poems for various aspects of child development, especially language development. The regular use of poetic texts requires that teachers know an extensive collection of children's poems and have an affinity for this type of literature. This paper aims to demonstrate the importance of using poetic texts when working with preschool and elementary schoolaged children. The use of poetic texts contributes to children's imagination and creativity, and develops their love for writing, reading, and composing poems. The activities carried out in the kindergarten, which were encouraged by poetic texts, are also described in detail in this article.
