Sažetak
This contribution, proceeding from the great number of maritime Croatian pilgrimages from the eastern to the western Adriatic coast to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Loreto, perpetuated for centuries (XV-XXI), goes in search of the origins of a devotion declined in the feminine that exhibits an extraordinary temporal constancy of tens of thousands of years. Starting from the remains dating back 500, 000 years ago in all the countries gravitating towards the Mediterranean basin and focusing on the prehistoric periods from the Paleolithic to the Neolithic, we notice an incredible multiplication of the female presence among the remains left behind by man. The search for the sacred leads us inexorably to finding the presence of various cultures that show how Homo religiosus responded to these hierophanies through rites and devotions transmuted into myths, sacred stories and tangible responses. In fact, we find the remains of female figurines in temples, domestic or official altars which, according to researchers such as Eliade, Gimbutas, Lilliu, Dumézil, Coppens, Facchini, Ries and others, seem to confirm, albeit in vast coordinates, the presence of cults to the Mother Goddess distributed both geographically and temporally. Large Mediterranean islands such as Sardinia, Sicily and Malta show a surprising variety of remains that reveal how the cult transferred by sea remained through the millennia a part of that sensitivity and intimate devotion to the sacred into which Christianity was then grafted, finding welcoming substrates by virtue of traditions and the passage of collective memory from generation to generation.

Napomena
Potraga
za svetim nas neminovno vodi ka pronalaženju
prisutnosti različitih kultura koje pokazuju kako
je Homo religiosus reagirao na određene
hijerofanije kroz obrede i pobožnosti pretvorene u
mitove, svete priče i opipljive odgovore. Nalazimo
tako ostatke ženskih figurica u hramovima, kućnim
ili službenim oltarima, koji, prema istraživačima
poput Eliadea, Gimbutas, Lilliua, Dumézila,
Coppensa, Facchinija, Riesa i drugih, izgleda da
potvrđuju, iako na širokim koordinatama,
prisutnost kultova Božice Majke rasprostranjenu i
geografski i vremenski. Veliki mediteranski otoci
zahvaljujući tradicijama i prijenosu kolektivnog

Partendo dai resti risalenti
devozioni trasmutatisi in miti e risposte
tangibili. Troviamo infatti resti di statuine
femminili in templi, altari domestici o ufficiali,
Grandi
isole mediterranee come Sardegna, Sicilia e Malta
