Sažetak
Viticulture in the Republic of Croatia has a rich and layered history and an important influence on the construction of human communities and the economic and social organization of the country's development. Croatian viticulture and the entire Croatian wine sector are regionally organized and divided according to recognizable wine areas such as: Slavonia, Baranja, Istria, Dalmatia and other smaller wine areas. This regional division points to the fact that in the last two decades, Croatian viticulture has had an increasingly significant impact on the development of agriculture, tourism and the economy. On the other hand, climate change, which is studied through environmental protection and ecology, is very important for the current and future development of Croatian viticulture and agriculture. The most significant environmental problems are the problems of reducing soil quality, water pollution and intensive use of pesticides and fertilizers. Within the framework of economic analysis in Croatian scientific publications and papers, there are not many papers that deal with the economic aspects of the study of winemaking and viticulture. In this paper, the authors try to analyse economic indicators that include basic data on viticulture and winemaking through basic information on the number of farmers, agricultural arable and non-arable land, and grape crops. A chronological overview of the positive and negative activities of climate change was made, as well as an analysis of the impact of climate change on viticulture. The primary goal of the research is aimed at correlating the relationship between climate change and economic sustainability of viticulture through research on the effects of measuring stations and prognostic models that can contribute to the development of viticulture. The recommendations of the paper are directed towards the possibilities of predicting weather temperatures. Better weather forecasting can contribute to better prediction of financial and economic perspectives of viticulture in the Republic of Croatia.
