Sažetak
The Pelješac Bridge is one of the most strategically important projects in Croatia to date. The total value of the project is approximately 420 million euros, of which 357 million euros is covered by European Union funds. The Pelješac Bridge brings together three main actors: Croatia, the European Union, and China. It is one of the major European Union-funded projects built by a Chinese company. The Pelješac Bridge links the Croatian coastline, which is divided by a small stretch of Bosnia and Herzegovina territory. Many parties are involved in this complex project. The study used online research, content analysis, and a structured interview with the investor’s lead project manager to present interpersonal and interfirm relationships in the project and emphasises their importance in leadership and communication. The results provide a basis for further research on communication in key relationships in strategic infrastructure projects. The importance of communication for the success of projects has been highlighted numerous times in existing literature. However, effective communication and leadership management in today’s multicultural environment remains a challenge for parties involved in construction projects. The lessons learned in this project can be of great value for similar future projects.
