Sažetak
Noise pollution is one of environmental priorities that is evident from regulation and standardisation efforts on European level as well as updated noise guidelines by the World Health Organization. One of the main noise control methods is building the noise barriers. Besides mechanical and durability properties, the acoustic performance of the noise barrier is their most important characteristic. In-situ properties have recently been imposed by EU regulations and present a new way of evaluating and comparing acoustic properties of barriers on road and rail infrastructure. RUCONBAR is a highly absorptive environmentally friendly concrete noise barrier. Innovation is evident in absorbing layer made of recycled waste tires and concrete. This paper presents in-situ measurements of insertion loss and sound reflection of RUCONBAR barriers. The measurement is conducted by using an artificial sound source. Acoustic performance and possible optimisation of the barrier is discussed.
