Sažetak
The publishing industry has been undergoing many changes due to advances in business organization, technology, changes in the supply chain, readership, interests, competencies, etc. To prepare future professionals for successful careers in publishing, programs in publishing studies need to reflect those changes in their curricula. In this paper, the author presents findings from a longitudinal study (the first study was conducted in 2015) whose aim is to critically analyse and compare changes in publishing study curricula from 2015 to 2022. The study is trying to answer the following research question: How did study programs in publishing change learning outcomes and students' competencies? The study was conducted on an international sample of publishing study programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The research sample was limited mainly to English-speaking countries. The research sample included 43 university publishing programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels worldwide (23 MA, 8 BA, 4 MS, and 8 Certificate). In the data-gathering phase, a customized web application was used for content analysis. The application has three main sections: a list of websites to evaluate, a visual representation of the uploaded website, and a list of characteristics grouped by categories for quantifying data.
