Sažetak
In the article the author examines spatial mobility in the commune of Rab in the early modern period. The analysis is based on the research of the notarial records of the commune of Rab, primarily last wills, recorded by four local notaries between 1534 and 1554. By analysing data collected from the last wills, the author focuses on those testators who were, for various reasons, spatially mobile in the analyzed period. In the first part of the article the social status, gender, origin, profession and family status of the testators are examined. Firstly, the research is focused on what prompted the spatial mobility, as well as the travellers’ destinations. Secondly, the factors which prompted immigration are being considered. Finally, the author examines the impact of spatial mobility on various aspects of communal daily life.
