Sažetak
The present trend in the globalisation of the world market is unquestionably reflected in the wood processing and furniture industry. The Croatian wood processing industry and furniture production is permanently oriented to export as the only possible method of survival on the market. Competition in both European and world markets, combined with increasing consumer demands have made the quality of production and services one of the crucial factors with which to conquer markets. Also, after a series of changes that happened in the wood and furniture production of Republic of Croatia majority of the companies for wood processing and furniture production are of small and medium size and they can not independently compete at both European and world market. The solution of this problem lies within the cooperation or actual involvement in production chains of the companies that are already present at the mentioned markets. The paper will present an example of a furniture factory joining the world chain of furniture manufacturers and sellers that require the application of the ISO-norms in the 9000 series, as well as its adjustment to these norms.
