Sažetak
Contrary to the highlighted need for translating Discourse Theory into empirical practice, this paper argues that Discourse Theory is an empirical practice. Accordingly, it does not lack materiality nor does it require an anchorage point to be productive. Furthermore, one should not distinguish between discourse and empirical practice as if these were two different languages that ought to be translated into a coherent methodology. Laclau, after all, claimed ''there is a widespread opinion that there is a spread of orderly procedures to be followed in carrying out any particular research. Nothing could be more erroneous. [...] If anyone has any illusions concerning methodology, my advice is to read P. Feyerabend's Against Method, which will dispel them very quickly''. However, it has by now become quite apparent that these illusions have not been dispelled. Rather, as Feyerabend argued, ''methodology has by now become so crowded with empty sophistication that it is extremely difficult to perceive the simple errors at the basis''. Focusing on the simple errors at the basis, this paper shows the productiveness of decisively abandoning the ideal of method.
