Sažetak
The paper first gives an introduction on cultural regulation of emotions. Every society regulates/shapes emotional responses of its members ; in fact, it shapes both the experience and the expression of emotions. It favours certain emotions (and their expression) while it suppresses others that are labelled as inappropriate. In the second part of the paper the author discusses some familiar example of hostage-giving as a part of international diplomatic relations, such as peace treaties and similar.
