Sažetak
Infrastructure, from design and construction to maintenance, is highly dependent on political decisions and is of great importance in any crisis. The presentation consists of four parts, starting with the introduction, followed by projection of climate changes in Republic of Croatia and impact of climate change on bridges and finally will end with the conclusions. Infrastructure, including transportation facilities, energy sector, health care and public sector, etc., is important in any crisis: wars, pandemics, climate change, natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods, fires, droughts, etc. Climate change is already happening and is affecting all aspects of life, including construction sector having multiple impacts on the stability, load-bearing capacity and serviceability of structures. The focus of this paper is to analyse the impact of climate changes on infrastructures, especially on bridges. To better adapt infrastructure to climate change, the faults to be avoided and the adaptation measures to be applied to increase the durability and load- bearing capacity of structures have been highlighted.
