Sažetak
Fashion is a style of attire that is peculiar to a certain era, society, or group, or that is judged fitting for a particular moment or period. Fashion, in this sense, is one of the most refined indications of era taste, which is one of the foundations of aesthetic and critical appraisal of a historical period. Fashion journalism is a branch of the fashion industry that focuses on writing and photography. Fashion journalists cover a wide range of topics, including trends and events, as well as maintaining ties with designers and stylists. It is expected from a fashion journalist to be well-versed in the history of the business and to keep up with current events. The first serious printing of fashion magazines began in the 18th century, with color images of apparel displayed and published until the end of the 20th century when black and white photography replaced the requirement for illustrations. Fashion publications became more popular and appealing, particularly to female audiences, as color photography progressed. The word blog was created by connecting the word Web (World Wide Web) and the word log. In terms of fashion, blogs represent a growing media that is used both by journals, but even more designers and individuals dedicated to fashion. This paper focuses at the analysis of 10 fashion journals that are published in Croatia, as well as 10 fashion blogs written by Croatian bloggers. The main parameters of analysis are writing style, purse, number of authors, targeted audience, topic, goal, role, profit, the reason for the launch, and appearance. For an in-depth analysis, five fashion magazines and five fashion blogs were selected, based on which an analysis will be made: comparing fashion magazines and fashion blogs, their structure and content layout, content ratio and how many pages are dedicated to fashion beauty, travel, gastronomy and the like, the share of advertisements in the magazine, special sections that are present in the magazine, and the style of writing.
