Sažetak
This paper presents the results of the project focused on the aerial survey of fertile land between the Drava, Danube and Sava rivers in the Eastern Croatia. Basis of the research was comparative image study of 4 cyclic photogrammetric surveys made by the Republic of Croatia State Geodetic Administration in the period from 1997 to 2015. Surveys were made in panchromatic and colour techniques, as well as in digital format covering colour and near infrared spectrum. Satellite imagery and Internet geographic services such as Google Earth, Bing maps, Croatian Internet geodetic and agricultural map services were also extensively used. Valuable resource are also digital ized vertical images originating earlier than 1968, and available since 2015. According to the results gained by the above mentioned analy sis, sites were selected on which a series of aircraft photographic sur- veys were continuously conducted from 2013 to 2015. From 2015 UAVs are used to record target areas and sites. The imagery data was compared with the results of the systematic field survey. The result was the identification of more than 200 newly discovered archaeo logical sites throughout the area. Combination of all of the described methods provided completely new insight on land occupation, set tlement pattern and subsistence strategy in prehistoric, Roman and medieval period
