Sažetak
The purpose of this article is to present some aspects related to the experiences of war and the position of the Croats in Austria-Hungary during World War I and immediately after its end, in order to throw a brief historical spotlight on the deep turning point that occurred in 1918, and what the fall of the Danube monarchy, which was how Austria-Hungary was informally called, meant for the Croats as one of the peoples of the empire.
