Sažetak
The case note analyses the judgment of the CJEU in the case C-319/20 of 22 April 2022, Meta Platforms Ireland, EU:C:2022:322, related to the violation of consumers’ personal data through non- transparent and unfair consent to data processing. The particularity of this case lies not only in the connection to data protection rules and the GDPR, but also in the liaison of these rules with the consumer acquis ; in particular, with the rules of the Unfair Commercial Practices Directive (2005/29/EC) and the Unfair Contract Terms Directive (93/13/EEC), as well as the collective redress protection of consumer rights.
