Sažetak
The role of the puppet in a child's life is of unquestionable importance. Such an attitude is supported by many studies conducted so far in the field of education. Hovvever, the use of puppet in early and preschool education (further ECE) depends largely on the teacher himself as the holder of the practice, and the co-creator of the educational process, whose actions influence the enhancement of creativity in children. This research sought to find out teachers' attitudes about the application of the puppet in education, as well as about enhancing children's creativity through its use. The obtained results confirm that teachers in Croatia have a positive opinion about the use of puppets in ECE setting, and that with regard to initial education, they do not differ statistically in attitudes about the importance of puppets as tools of education and creativity. When applying the puppet in practice, teachers with a professional bachelor's degree use the puppet more than teachers with completed university undergraduate and graduate studies. When ansvvering open-ended questions, they outlined several benefits such as enhancement of creativity, communication, socialisation, inclusion, easier acquisition of language content, adoption of educational values and many other areas that they observed while using puppet in their own practice.
