Sažetak
This paper elaborated the historical ties between Christian Democracy and consociational democracy that exist on a theoretical and practical level. It explained the Christian Democratic conception of democracy that underscores the Christian Democratic actors’ historic preference for consociational mechanisms. Due to a counter- majoritarian and non-adversarial understanding of democracy, there is an inseparable connection between Christian Democracy and consociational model of democracy
