Sažetak
Many studies in the last century showed that Avicenna had a considerable influence on the teaching of saint Thomas Aquinas. However, his influence continued after the death of St. Thomas Aquinas. The aim of this paper is to show that Avicenna is one of significant sources in the works of the first disciples of Thomas Aquinas, particularly in polemical works known as the controversy of Correctoria and Corruptoria, and in the works of the fourteenth-century Florentine Dominican Remigio dei Girolami (d. 1319). Remigio refers to Avicenna in the context of the discussion regarding the knowledge of the universal and the knowledge the particular, the doctrine of being and essence, the real distinction, res as transcendental, the controversy about the intentional distinction, etc. The author analyses the way in which Remigio from Florence refers to Avicennian texts and notions in order to indicate that he follows the teaching of his master St. Thomas, but developing the doctrines in his own way.
